The underground caves at the bottom of the sea of Orosei
The Gulf of Orosei, with its impressive cliffs and extraordinary climbing opportunities, is also a diver’s paradise. The underwater world is an explosion of color, with lobsters and cicadas, sea daisies and colorful sponges that characterize The Gallery, an underwater cave suitable only for expert scuba divers.
The Secca di Levante, off Cala Luna, is characterized by massive shoals of bream, groupers and croakers, between boulders covered with white sponges and sea fans. Also deserving of mention, the beautiful immersion in the Grotta della Cattedrale, under a high cliff with coral walls and sponges of all colors. This cave has become famous for its green emerald waters that create a incredible contrast with the deep blue shade of the Sardinian sea. A few miles from Cala Gonone off the coast of Cala Biriola, at 34 meters of depth, a beautiful anchor from the last century marks the Wall of Scala di Ferro where you can dive next to large slabs of rock on the seabed.
