Sailing is one of the most iconic activities to do in Sardinia. The constant winds from the sea and the strategic position in the centre of the west of the Mediterranean, make this island the dream of every sailor.
It’s not difficult to understand why Sardinia is one of the most prestigious locations to host some of the most important regattas, from the Vela Latina to the Tiscali Cup. In 2014 the team of Luna Rossa trained in the Gulf of Cagliari while preparing for the 2017 America’s Cup, an event from which they have withdrawn, but which has still made this sport flourish in the island.
