Cala Goloritzè is a beautiful cove in the Gulf of Orosei that was declared a natural monument of Sardinia by Regional Decree. It is known for the magnificent limestone arch on the sea and the presence of the Aguglia, a limestone monolith over one hundred meters tall that guards the little bay.
The Gulf of Orosei, with its impressive cliffs and extraordinary climbing opportunities, is also a diver’s paradise. The underwater world is an explosion of color, with lobsters and cicadas, sea daisies and colorful sponges that characterize The Gallery, an underwater cave suitable only for expert scuba divers.
The beautiful waters of the Gulf of Orosei contain many treasures that for diving enthusiasts are one of the most interesting highlights of the area. Caves with a unique flora and fauna and beautiful wrecks that have become refuges for fish.
A beautiful natural monument which can be reached by a path that starts from Cala Luna within the territory of Dorgali. It is a spectacular arch of limestone with a central opening of about thirteen meters, from which you can admire a breathtaking panorama of the coast up to Cala Gonone.
The Wild Blue is a very challenging trekking route that touches the crags on the coast of the town of Baunei. Fascinated by this fabulous coastline, in 1987 mountaineers Mario Verin and Peppino Cicalò followed the paths of the shepherds and their flocks, passing along the old mule trails of nineteenth century coal miners, and blazed a difficult-to-find track through the limestone rocks and vegetation of the Supramonte.
The Cedrino is a river of Nuoro mentioned by Grazia Deledda in her Nobel Prize winning book Reeds in the Wind, where the night passes by with the "sighing of the reeds" on this river. The Cedrino originates in the Gennargentu, near the Supramonte of Orgosolo where it is known as Rio Boloriga. After a tortuous 80 km it flows into the sea at Orosei.
The most attractive, mysterious and wild place of Sardinia is without a doubt the Supramonte. And here you can embark on a trekking journey surrounded by the wildest nature, one of the most spectacular routes in Europe.
